Oral Presentation
Log-periodic Dipole Array Antenna for Fast Radio Burst Detection
Presenter: Chang-Shao Shen (ASIAA)
The Fast Radio Burst (FRB) has been recognized as a new astrophysical phenomenon, in which millisecond pulses are bursted from distant galaxies. The sources of the FRBs are currently unknown. To detect FRBs, a large antenna array will be employed as a FFT telescope. To detect the pulses in a broadband spectrum, log-periodic dipole array (LPDA) antenna is utilized as the antenna element. In this talk, the latest antenna element design for FRB detection will be presented. The design specifications, metrics, and challenges will also be covered.
