Institute of Astronomy & Astrophysics, Academia Sinica (ASIAA) is located in the AS/NTU Astronomy-Mathematics Building at National Taiwan University (NTU) in Taipei. There are 3 MRT stations within walking distance: Gongguan, Taipower Building and Technology Building.

Travel Guide

  1. Transportation From International Airports
    • Most international flights land in Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (Airport Code: TPE) which is situated 40km (24.8 miles) southwest of Taipei.
    • Taipei Songshan Airport (Airport code: TSA) serves domestic flights and short-haul services to mainland China and Japan-Haneda(HND)/Korea-Gimpo(GMP). It's close to the Taipei city center.
    • Please refer to ASIAA website for transportation from international airports to Taipei downtown.

  3. PRC Passport Holders: need to apply for travel permits (來台入出境許可證). Please follow the instructions to apply for Travel Permit.

Dining Places

You can easily find restaurants everywhere in the city. Prices vary but one meal should cost less than 10 USD in many restaurants. There are many restaurants in the alleys of XinSheng S. Rd. and Roosevelt Rd.
