Travel Guide
- PRC Passport Holders: it takes 3 to 4 months to apply for travel permits (來台入出境許可證). Please follow the instructions to apply for Travel Permit before August 15.
- Visa-Exempt Entry & e-Visas
- 30-day visa-free privileges are afforded to citizens of more than 30 countries. Please visit Regulation of Visa-Exempt Entry and Landing Visas for Foreigners.
- Please note that your passport's expiration date should be at least six months after your trip.
- International Airports
- Most international flights land in Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (Airport Code: TPE) which is situated 40km south of Taipei. The metro system “airport line” connects the TPE airport and Taipei main station and will take less than 1 hour.
- Taipei Songshan Airport (Airport code: TSA) serves domestic flights and short-haul services to mainland China and Japan-Haneda(HND)/Korea-Gimpo(GMP). It's close to the Taipei city center.
- Please refer to ASIAA website for transportation from international airports to Taipei downtown.
- Currency
The New Taiwan Dollar (NT$) is the currency used in Taiwan. It is recommended to travel with cash. It is also possible to withdraw NT$ from ATM in Taiwan with foreign bank card. Please check with your bank about this service in advance. - Dinning Places
You can easily find restaurants everywhere in the Taipei city. Prices vary but one meal should cost less than 15 USD in many restaurants. [Lunch boxes will be provided for the participants during workshop.]
