Recent progress of development of HEBM and THz-QCL in NICT (2025)

We report on the recent progress of the development of HEBM and THz-QCL. To reduce direct detection effect of an HEBM, THz-BPFs are developing. We fabricated a mixer block of a 4.7 THz HEBM with a WR-0.22 waveguide and a diagonal horn. We are developing a 1.5 THz HEBM in collaboration with the University of Electro-Communications (UEC) for the applications of the spectroscopy and radio astronomy looking ahead to future installation of the Antarctic Telescope. We are developing a corrugated horn at 3 THz. We have detected bias modulated THz-QCL signal.
