Oral Presentation
Design of Local Oscillator for KASI Submillimeter Triple band Receiver
Presenter: Do-Heung Je (KASI)
The Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI) is developing a triple-band receiver capable of simultaneous observations at 86, 230, and 345 GHz for the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT). This presentation introduces the local oscillator (LO) configuration developed for the receiver. The LO system at each band consists of a YIG-tuned oscillator, a YIG-tuned filter, a frequency multiplier, a cold multiplier, and a phase-lock module. It is shown that the YIG-tuned filter is highly effective in reducing AM noise. Reference signals in the 15–30 GHz range are used to phase-lock the three YIG-tuned oscillators.
