New Generation Twin Spectroscopic Telescope Initiative: Maunakea Spectroscopic Explorer (MSE) and Southern-sky Spectroscopic Explorer (SSE) (Remote)
Presenter: Suijian Xue (National Astronomical Observatories, Chinese Academy of Sciences (NAOC))
Massively multiplexed spectroscopy is required to fully realize the primary science goals of the VRO, Gaia, the Roman Space Telescope, CSST, and other surveys. The idea of the Next Generation Twin Spectroscopic Telescope Initiative (ngTSTI) represents a bold step forward in this pursuit. By converging the new concept development in China, the Southern-sky Spectroscopic Explorer (SSE) and the long standing project, Maunakea Spectroscopic Explorer (MSE) into a unified vision, we aim to create a powerful platform that will revolutionize the way we conduct spectroscopic observations and propel us into the future of astronomy.
