Pebble formation (or not) in protoplanetary disks (Remote)

There have been dramatic misunderstandings about dust growth and planet-formation, due to overlooking the effects of dust scattering in radiative transfer modeling. This has been realized only since 2019. I would like to briefly summarize some new observational results and discuss the physical implication.
