Strong Gravitational Lensing: Nature's Cosmic Telescope to Probe the Universe (recorded)
Presenter: Sherry Suyu (Technical University of Munich; Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics; ASIAA)
Strong gravitational lensing is a powerful probe of cosmology and astrophysics. It enables us to measure the expansion rate and the geometry of the Universe, to study supermassive black holes at centers of galaxies, and to observe distant galaxies with unprecedented resolutions. Paul has been instrumental in fostering these research areas at ASIAA, and I will highlight some of the strong lensing results that have emerged.
