We present wide -field V,I photometry in Auriga region around l~173 degree to explore star formation scenario in the region. We identified about 700 young stellar objects (YSOs) in the region on the basis of NIR/MIR excess emission using 2MASS near-infrared and WISE near/ mid – infrared archival data. The age and mass of the YSOs are derived with help of optical colour-magnitude diagram and spectral energy distribution. The estimated age and mass of these YSOs are comparable with the Class I and Class II sources. The spatial distribution of YSOs reveals two ring like structures over area of a few degrees in extent. The distribution of YSOs, H I and H II gas suggests for triggered star formation probably due to supernova explosion in the region.
