We present multi-wavelength polarization observations of HL Tau using ALMA and SOFIA HAWC+. We show the dust polarization is a combination of dust scattering and radiation anisotropy without any significant magnetic field alignment. Although this does not allow us to constrain the magnetic field morphology, we can constrain the dust properties in a new way.
