Oral Presentation

Diffusion of magnetic field and outflows from star-disk magnetosphere

Formation and launching of outflows from a star-disk magnetosphere
are dependent on the level of magnetic field diffusion. In my viscous
and resistive magneto-hydrodynamic simulations using the PLUTO code, I
investigate a portion in the parameter space with values supporting the
launching of outflows. For protostars with realistic values of the dipolar
stellar magnetic field between 0.25 and 1 kG, and the stellar
rotation rates 3 to 10 days, which reach the quasi-stationary state,
I indicate magnetic Prandtl numbers allowing the formation of conical or
axial outflows.
