Oral Presentation

Magneto- and turbulent regimes of star formation

Author(s): Philip Mocz (Princeton)

Presenter: Philip Mocz (Princeton University)

(This is a preliminary abstract) I will discuss the regimes in which either magnetic fields or turbulence is the most important for governing collapse and fragmentation of prestellar cores. The primary variable determining the regime is the Alfvenic Mach number associated with the mean-field threading the medium (an invariant). I will discuss observational polarization signatures of the two regimes.
