Dynamical Impacts of Accretion Streamers on Circumstellar Disks

Recent scattered-light and molecular observations reveal that circumstellar disks receive material from nearby filamentary structures, regardless of their evolutionary stage. These filamentary structures, also known as accretion streamers, highlight the importance of environmental effects in star formation, in contrast to the classical theory that assumes the gravitational collapse of an isolated dense core. Using hydrodynamic simulations, we explore how the accretion streamer affects the disk structure and kinematics, and analyze how these effects depend on streamer properties. Our findings reveal that the accretion streamer can significantly increase disk eccentricity, induce various disk substructures, drive the disk warping, and affect the disk accretion process. Furthermore, we examine how these effects can be traced via ALMA molecular line observations.
