Invited Presentation
Probing galaxy quenching in nearby galaxies using ALMA
Presenter: Lihwai Lin (ASIAA)
The combination of ALMA molecular gas observations and integral-field spectroscopy offers powerful insights into the quenching mechanisms of green valley galaxies. In this talk, I will present recent advances from the ALMaQUEST survey, focusing on star formation scaling relations (with CO (1-0)), dense gas content (traced by HCN and HCO⁺), and quenching timescales derived from spectral modeling. I will also introduce the KILOGAS survey, a new CO(2–1) mapping initiative targeting 450 nearby galaxies. This dataset will provide a comprehensive understanding of how quenching processes vary across galaxy populations, including dependencies on stellar mass, morphology (disks vs. spheroids), environment (field vs. clusters), size, among other factors.
