Oral Presentation
BURSTT Project Status
Presenter: Kai-yang Lin (ASIAA)
BURSTT is a wide-field survey telescope in Taiwan that observes in the frequency range 300- 800 MHz. The 10,000 sq. deg field of view offers the capability of monitoring repeating FRBs or rare events in the local universe. Outrigger stations can then be used to localize the events to their host galaxies. The first phase of the main array, consisting of 256 dipole antennas, has been completed and has been monitoring the sky. More than 20 Giant Pulses of the Crab pulsar are routinely being triggered each day. An outrigger station with 64 antennas has also been in operation to test the localization capability. In this talk, I will summarize the current status and our progress toward localizing sources.
