Variation of the Ionospheric Delay between the BURSTT Sites: A Study with Total Electron Content (TEC) Maps
Presenter: Sun-Kun King (Academia Sinica Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics/ASIAA)
The Bustling Universe Radio Survey Telescope in Taiwan (BURSTT) project has set up antennas arrays at several sites with a separation around hundreds of kilometers. The total electron content (TEC) in the line of sight of a non-repeating transient radio source is one of the dominated factors of the source localization using VLBI. The difference of the slant TECs (sTEC) between different sites of antennas are derived from selected existing ionosphere models. How such a model together with some other possible observations can be used to improve the accuracy of a localization will be discussed.
