Oral Presentation
ASIAA FRB Activities in Hawaii
Presenter: Geoffrey Bower (Academia Sinica Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics/ASIAA)
ASIAA is developing a new site and facilities for FRB research on Hawaii Island. Identified through an island-wide RFI survey, the Pahala site is situated in a primarily agricultural region in the southern part of the island. The site will host outrigger arrays for the CHIME and BURSTT telescopes, both operating in the 400 - 800 MHz band. The CHIME outrigger will consist of 10 6-meter dishes in a close-packed configuration. The BURSTT outrigger will consist of 64 dipole antennas. I will discuss the current state of development and plans for operations.
