Impact of mm/submm VLBI observations for galaxy evolution
Presenter: Keiichi Asada (ASIAA)
In 2019 Apr. EHT collaboration reported the first image of the black hole shadow associated with M87. By revealing the apparent size of the shadow, we uniquely determine the mass of the central BH, while there were discrepancy on its mass measurements based on stellar and gas dynamic methods before. So far, while EHT has been enable to reveal the shadow of BHs only for two primary objects, we will have more sources those will be able to resolve the shadow directly by going to high frequency. In meantime, EHT will be able to probe the environment of sphere of gravitational influence by SMBH through the structure of relativistic jets. I will introduce prospect of mm/submm VLBI on those aspects.
