Probing Symmetry Breaking in the Large Scale Spin Distribution of Spiral Galaxies

The spin distribution of galaxies embraces the information on the origin of vortex distribution during the structure formation in the Universe. The authors are compiling a large catalog of spiral galaxies with their spiral winding direction, S-wise or Z-wise, from SDSS, PanSTARRS, DES, and HSC image databases to make robust observational studies to probe the presence of large scale anisotropy in the spin distribution of galaxies. Short review of related researches and some results from our recent study are presented.
