Oral Presentation
On the effect of dust scattering opacity on the (sub)millimeter continuum spectra
Presenter: Hauyu Baobab Liu (ASIAA)
It has been recently realized that when the maximum dust grain size is on the order of 100 micron, the dust scattering opacity can lead to significant attenuation of flux density and also change the color at (sub)millimeter band (Liu 2019). I will introduce how this effect has biased the previous studies of young stellar objects, and how future SMA observations would help achieve a better understanding in this area.
