First Results from mmIME: The Millimeter-wave Intensity Mapping Experiment

Author(s): Garrett K. Keating (CfA)

Presenter: Garrett Keating (Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian)

In this talk, I will discuss the Millimeter-wave Intensity Mapping Experiment (mmIME) — an observational program that seeks to leverage data from existing instruments in order to perform power spectra analysis and place early limits on the power spectra of CO and [CII], in advance of a generation of upcoming, dedicated instruments seeking to probe the high redshift Universe using particular tracers of galaxies. mmIME aims to leverage the combined power of the SMA, ALMA, and VLA -- utilizing both archival data as well as new, large-scale observing programs -- to survey CO emission from 0.2 < z < 6, and [CII] emission at z > 4.
