SPICA (Space Infrared Telescope for Cosmology and Astrophysics) is a joint space mission of Japan and Europe. The SPICA mission concept was proposed in response to the ESA call for medium-size mission (M5) within the Cosmic Vision Programme.and successfully selected by ESA, as one of three candidates, on May 7, 2018. Toward the final selection in 2021, we will consolidate the science goals and requirements, undertake concept design study of the spacecraft and payload instruments, including critical technology development/demonstration. These works will be jointly tackled by 16 European countries, Japan, USA, Canada, and Taiwan.
