Oral Presentation

Winds from T Tauri stars

Author(s): Min Fang

Presenter: Min Fang (University of Arizona)

Low-excitation forbidden lines of [O I] and [S II] have been frequently observed from classical T Tauri stars, and are interpreted as arising in winds from these young systems. An investigation of the profiles of the forbidden lines suggests that there are at lease two types of components: the high velocity component (HVC) and the low velocity component (LVC). The HVCs have been unambiguously identified with the jets in some cases. But, the origin of the LVC is still unknown. In this talk, I will present our recent results on origin and physical characteristics of the HVC and the LVC.
