Oral Presentation
Water-Vapor Megamasers in Active Galactic Nuclei
Presenter: Naomasa Nakai (University of Tsukuba)
Water-vapor maser emission is a unique and powerful probe to directly investigate the structure and dynamics of Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) on the (sub-)parsec scale. To date, more than 3000 galaxies have been searched for water maser emission, and in about 150 AGN, water megamasers have been detected. Among them, more than 15 megamasers have been imaged with VLBI. I will show and discuss some characteristics of the maser disks and massive black holes detected.
