Circumstellar, interstellar, and circumnuclear water masers as probes of fine structures of astrophysical objects
Presenter: Hiroshi Imai (Kagoshima University)
Astrophysical water masers have attracted astronomers who have attempted to utilize them as probes of fine structures of spatio-kinematics of outflows and accretion tori/disks in star-forming regions, expanding circumstellar envelopes of evolved stars, and circumnuclear tori/disks around central massive black holes of extragalaxies. It may be challenging to universally understand the special physical conditions that excite water masers associated with a wide variety of astrophysical objects listed here. I would like to present my history of observational study on water masers, some of them would be interacted with scientific actions lead by Prof. M. Inoue.
