Task Description and Goals

The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope is NASA’s next-generation flagship observatory, designed to conduct wide-field infrared surveys with unprecedented depth and resolution. With its vast field of view and high sensitivity, Roman will provide a unique opportunity to study galaxy clusters up to redshift 3, allowing us to trace the evolution of cluster abundance across cosmic time. This study aims to explore how well high-redshift clusters observed by Roman can constrain cosmological parameters, particularly in the context of structure formation and the ΛCDM model. Using the Cocoa package, we will simulate cluster abundance forecasts, assess parameter constraints, and investigate potential systematics. The results of this study will provide crucial insights into the power of future high-redshift cluster observations for precision cosmology.

Required Background

Strong programming skills and be proficient in Python, including experience with scientific computing libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, and Matplotlib. Familiarity with data analysis and simulations is preferred but not mandatory.
