Search for Cosmic Parity Violation
Presenter: Kin-Wang Ng (Academia Sinica)
If dark matter or dark energy is optically birefringent, the polarization plane of distant polarized light will get rotated. This would lead to parity-violating signatures in the sky, such as a conversion of cosmic microwave background E-mode polarization into B-mode polarization and a correlation between rotated polarized light of radio galaxies and large-scale structures. We will explain the physical motivations and mention current and future observations in search of cosmic parity violation.
