Invited Presentation
The evolution of galaxies and AGN
Presenter: Fangting Yuan (Shanghai Astronomical Observatory)
In this talk, we will briefly summarize the research activities in our group, which is to study how galaxies evolve and what are the roles of the central supermassive black holes in these galaxies. Specifically, we will introduce the science cases we have done on the fueling and feedback of AGNs, the star formation in AGNs, the evolutionary scenario of bulges, the evolution of galaxy disks, merging galaxies, etc. Our research are mainly done using the data from 2D spectroscopy and mid-infrared spectroscopy. I will also introduce our own 2D spectrograph, China Lijiang IFU (CHILI), and its science implications.
