Oral Presentation
The interaction of magnetic fields and stellar feedback: from protostellar outflows to starburst galaxies
Presenter: Kate Pattle (University College London (UCL))
In this talk I will present JCMT POL-2 observations of regions in which magnetic fields and stellar feedback are interacting, ranging from the reshaping of dense gas by low-mass outflows from nearby protostars, through the systematic reshaping of magnetised gas by HII regions, to the magnetic fields in the centres of our own and other galaxies. I will investigate the role that the interaction between magnetic fields and stellar feedback may play in setting star formation efficiency, and so shaping the evolution of both star-forming regions and galaxies.
