Oral Presentation

[Remote] Probing fundamental properties of AGNs with DESI and PFS

Author(s): Linhua Jiang (Peking University)

Presenter: Linhua Jiang (Peking University)

I was invited to present the current status of DESI-AGN studies, as I’m also a DESI member. I will present some fundamental properties of AGNs that my team has done recently. Specifically, I will focus on how we have used the DESI spectra to improve the measurements of supermassive black holes masses, AGN bolometric luminosities, AGN luminosity functions, AGN host galaxies, etc. I will also try to connect these scientific topics with future PFS spectra, and propose a few other topics that can be done with PFS, including changing-look AGNs and low-redshift analogs of JWST’s little red dots.
