Discovering Fast Radio Bursts

In this talk I will be explaining how the Lorimer Burst was discovered and the psychology involved in finding other examples, which initially proved very difficult. I will dwell on the important ingredients in building, commissioning and running a fast radio burst discovery experiment, and exploring unchartered regions of phase space in general.
