Fast Radio Bursts in the Local Universe
May 23(Fri)-25(Sun), 2025
National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Tainan, Taiwan

Purpose

Fast radio bursts (FRBs) are enigmatic, millisecond-duration radio bursts. Despite significant advances in FRB studies, their origins and emission mechanisms remain unsolved, underscoring the importance of detecting FRBs in the local universe. Therefore, the Bustling Universe Radio Survey Telescope in Taiwan (BURSTT) was initiated by the Taiwanese FRB community as a dedicated survey telescope with an exceptionally wide field of view and the capability for rapid localization of bright and nearby FRBs. The FRB Taiwan conference is an annual event showcasing state-of-the-art results in FRB research and fostering international collaborations to maximize scientific outcomes in the coming years. The FRB Taiwan 2025 conference, titled "Fast Radio Bursts in the Local Universe", will be hosted by National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) in Tainan. It will provide a valuable opportunity to discuss the latest discoveries on FRBs in the local universe and explore exciting new research directions.
