Primordial Imprint of Parity Violation on Galaxy Angular Momentum
Presenter: Junsup Shim (ASIAA)
We investigate how sensitively the angular momentum direction of galaxies can detect a fundamental asymmetry, the parity violation in the early universe. We utilize N-body simulations, where we introduce a helically asymmetric initial spin vector field to represent a potential parity violation. By cross-correlating the directions of angular momentum of a galaxy at late-time and the left- and right-helical components of the initial spin field, we quantify the amount of the asymmetry between the two helical modes. We also discuss the physical implications of our findings.
