Invited Presentation
Gas Dynamics of Protoplanetary Disks and Implications for Planet Formation
Presenter: Xuening Bai (Tsinghua University)
I will give an overview on the gas dynamics in protoplanetary disks, focusing on more recent developments in understanding angular momentum transport, the level of disk turbulence, disk winds, long-term disk evolution, and the formation of disk substructures. These new developments likely have profound impacts on several aspects of planet formation, such as dust dynamics, planetesimal formation and planet-disk interaction, which will also be briefly discussed.
