Usage of Machine Learning and Variational Inference in the Big Data Era

The analysis of big survey data generally requires satisfying speed and reliable analysis results. Nowadays it is not difficult to find various applications of machine learning methods in the research on galaxy evolution to handle the big data. I will summarize pros and cons of the machine learning methods, and I will highlight the ways to use Bayesian statistical inference with variational inference method and typical machine learning methods together in analyzing the big survey data.
