Oral Presentation
Developing new recipes for measuring the dynamical state of galaxy clusters using simulations.
Presenter: Hyowon Kim (UST/KASI)
In the hierarchical formation scenario, massive structures such as clusters are the most likely to be actively assembling today, and thus can be found in a wide range of dynamical states. Using cosmological simulations (the N-cluster simulations), we attempt to derive new and improved recipes for measuring the dynamical state of observed clusters. Using multiple dynamical indicators, we aim to find the best combinations to detect mergers, recent or ancient, and of different mass ratios. Here, we present our methodology and demonstrate our first very promising preliminary results.
