ULTIMATE-Subaru: toward the "bright" future of Subaru Telescope

Author(s): Yusei Koyama (Subaru Telescope) & ULTIMATE-Subaru Working Group

Presenter: Yusei Koyama (Subaru Telescope)

We present the current status and science goals of ULTIMATE-Subaru project - the ground layer adaptive optics (GLAO) development of Subaru - in particular focusing on the cluster-related science cases. The improved image quality (0.2" at K-band in the median conditions) over the wide FoV (14'x14') will bring strong impacts on a wide variety of astronomy science fields. The goal of my talk is to share the capabilities of ULTIMATE with the future potential partners of Subaru, and to promote discussion on the wide-field strategy of Subaru toward 2030 and beyond.
