First Clear Detection of CCS Zeeman Splitting of TMC-1
Presenter: Fumitaka Nakamura (NAOJ)
We carried out Zeeman observations toward a prestellar core, TMC-1 in the CCS (43-32) line. We detected about 130 Hz splitting in the Stokes V spectra. This corresponds to 210 micro Gauss. The mass-to-flux ratio of TMC-1 is estimated to be 1.5 for a column density of 3x10^22 cm^-2 derived from the Herschel data. Thus, we conclude that TMC-1 is strongly magnetized. We discuss a possibility of similar Zeeman measurements with ALMA band-1.
