Distribution of Various Molecular Tracers in a starburst galaxy M82

Previous single-dish studies show that an evolved starburst galaxy M82 has significantly different chemical compositions from that of a more younger starburst NGC 253. We observed M82 with Submillimeter Array using multiple molecular lines in the 230 GHz band to obtain the spatial dependence of chemical compositions. Such multi-species studies become more efficient with the wide bandwith of wSMA, which enables direct comparison of chemical compositions in different sources.
