Task Description and Goals
Photochemical models is one of the essential tools for characterizing planetary atmospheres. Solving stiff ODEs is in general the numerical bottleneck. This project aims to implement a JAX-accelerated version of the open-source 1D photochemical model VULCAN to enable faster and more scalable simulations of exoplanet atmospheres.
Depending on the progress, the JAX-version model will be applied to generate datasets for multi-fidelity neural networks.
