Obscuration of AGNs: Implications from Radiation-driven Fountain
Presenter: Keiichi Wada (Kagoshima University)
In the classical picture AGNs are consisted of an accretion disk and a dusty molecular torus. The torus plays a key role on obscuring the nucleus, but its origin and structures have not been clearly understood. Recently we proposed a dynamic model of the obscuring material, which is driven by the radiation from the AGN (Wada 2012; Schartmann et al. 2014). I discuss general properties of the obscuration based on this model, which should be important to understand statistical properties of high-z AGNs.
