Oral Presentation
The Compton Spectrometer and Imager (COSI) project
Presenter: Hsiang-Kuang Chang (National Tsing Hua University)
COSI, formerly known as NCT, is an instrument consisting of 12 high-purity germanium detectors, each of which is 8cm x 8cm x 1.5cm in size. It detects photons in 0.2-10 MeV and has the capability to measure polarization. COSI is a joint effort of several institutions in Taiwan and UC Berkeley. Currently it is in balloon flight stage. A space mission of such a compact Compton telescope will be proposed in the future.
