How hard could supermassive binary black holes be ?

I will briefly review the theoretical and observational
work about supermassive black holes in centers of galaxies, and discuss the supermassive binary black hole (SBBH) hardening. The possible correlations between SBBHs and the properties of galaxies will be addressed.
