The Summer Student Program (SSP) Committee and project supervisors may arrange interviews with prospective candidates.
Previous summer students are not eligible.
Students are expected to attend the SSP lecture series and encouraged to attend seminars and colloquia, as well as other academic activities suggested by their supervisors.
All students are required to give an oral presentation of their research project at the end of the program, which will be made available on the SSP website.
The stipend is NT$26,000 per month and is taxable with tax rates of 5% for domestic students and 6% for overseas students. Remote students do not receive a stipend.
ASIAA provides limited accidental insurance for the duration of the SSP. Students who require additional insurance coverage should purchase it prior to attending the program.
Students in Taiwan should participate in person. Students outside Taiwan may participate in person or remotely; those wishing to come to Taiwan for the program may do so with the understanding that travel and accommodation expenses cannot be covered by the Institute. Students who are applying to work remotely should generally indicate preference for a project that has a remote option.
Outstanding students, pending their supervisor's and institute director's approval, may have the opportunity to continue their research at the ASIAA with a scholarship. ASIAA's policy of hiring students will apply.
Students need to arrange their own accommodation. However, the SSP committee will provide a few online resources to facilitate the arrangement.
All of our facilities and resources are restricted to the Summer Students and cannot be extended to friends or relatives.
Students requesting casual leave are expected to make up for this time after the program formally concludes. All casual leave should be approved by the supervisor. The student will not be paid a stipend during the period that he or she applies leave.
