Task Description and Goals
The project is aiming to explore various configurations of the millimeter-wave signal source to serve as the early prototype local oscillator for 125 – 211 GHz heterodyne receiver. Various configuration is considered. The prototype system constructed will measure the following characteristics: output signal power, input/output power conversion gain, phase noise, spurious response, two-tone intermodulation, and long-term amplitude and phase stability.
Required Background
Electrical engineering, Physics, and mechanical engineering background student is preferred. The student interested on experiment and laboratory work is strongly encouraged.
