Task Description and Goals
The project is aiming to develop control software for a near-filed beam pattern measurement system. This system allows the determination of the beam patterns and pointing characteristics of the receiver system. The beam pattern measurement system is driving a planar scanner to carry a signal source to measure the receiver output signal in both amplitude and phase information. The scanner source is phase-locked to the reference.
This project is using LabVIEW software to control, synchronize and acquire the desired information from each test instrument. The goal is to use the developed software to perform the beam scanning and then generate a beam map as the final result.
Required Background
An engineering background student is preferred. The student interested in experiments and instrument development work is strongly encouraged.
