Announcement
Subaru is seeking opportunities for international co-operation. The candidate organizations and regions include EAO (China, Korea, Taiwan, Japan), Canada and Australia. This workshop is an initial meeting for researchers in star and planet formation in Japan and potential partner organizations/regions to discuss the future directions of our research field, how Subaru could impact our research field in the future, and to seek collaborations if appropriate. The goals of the workshop are as follows:
- Become familiar with science activities and future plans in Japan and potential partner organizations and regions
- Learn about Subaru’s present instrumentation, operation and future plans
- Discuss how future studies with Subaru will impact our research fields, in collaboration with a variety of facilities including ALMA, TMT, GMT, SPICA, FAST, JCMT, and CFHT
- Enhance international collaboration with Subaru
We will cover a broad range of science topics in star and planet formation. We also welcome researchers studying exoplanets as Subaru is commissioning and operating instruments for studying these objects. The number of participants will be limited to be about 40.
