ASIAA, Taipei

Announcement

The Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics (ASIAA) of Academia Sinica is holding a workshop in Taipei, Taiwan, entitled "The ERG mission science workshop" during 2014 April 14-15.

The ERG (Exploration of energization and Radiation in Geospace) mission is a collaboration project between ISAS(Institute of Space and Astronautical Science, Japan), NCKU (National Cheng Kung University) and ASIAA. The mission is scheduled to be launched in late 2015 and will explore the dynamics of the radiation belt, the geospace storms and the plasmasphere of Earth. This is the first collaboration science workshop for the ERG project that is open to the general space science community of Taiwan. This workshop aims to enhance the interactions between the Japanese team and Taiwanese scientists, especially to understand the scientific interests of local community. The goal is to form strong collaborations and working groups so the ERG data can be beneficial to more research topics. We gather the core ERG members from Japan to talk about the design and the capability of the ERG mission. We welcome all interested scientists and students in local universities and research groups to participate in the workshop, with the option of contributing oral presentations of their work that is relevant to the ERG science mission.
