TIARA Workshop on Star Formation and Its Environment in the Center of Galaxies
November 12-16, 2012
TIARA, 8F General Building II, National Tsing Hua University, Hsinchu, Taiwan

The theme of this workshop is on the structure of the central regions of galaxies and the star formation that takes place in its vicinity.

Among the topics include the morphology and kinematics of gas and stars; the presence of rings, bars, and super star clusters in their environment; the relation of these components to active galactic nuclei and the relation of such activity to star formation.

To maximize the interactions between the speakers and local astronomers, we encourage the participation of interested scientists from local institutes and universities.

The emphasis of this workshop will be on discussions rather than formal presentations. Hence, we envision several talks per day, with the rest of the time devoted to informal discussions and working sessions.
