The Very Large Array (VLA) is one of the most successful astronomical telescopes. In recent years, the VLA has undergone a major upgrade (aka. EVLA, officially named as the Karl G. Jansky VLA) and will become orders of magnitude more powerful. To raise the awareness of this new instrument in the Taiwanese astronomical community and encourage astronomers to use the VLA, ASIAA will hold a 2-day workshop on September 3rd and 4th (Monday and Tuesday) in, Taipei. The workshop will introduce the instrumental capabilities, discuss several key science cases, and provide hands-on sessions on various software tools. We encourage all astronomers and students to attend.
The workshop is open for registration until Noon Aug 22, 2012 [Asia/Taipei]. Please contact the
workshop organizer (whwang
asiaa.sinica.edu.tw) if you would like to give
a talk or have any special requests.
